Dallas Friday at home in Orlando finally, but not for long. I leave for New Hampshire then Canada on Friday. I have the best news in the world. I went to the doctor yesterday and got the green light to ride. I am so excited. I left the doctor and went straight out to the lake to ride.
I cannot tell you how good it felt to be back on my wakeboard. I threw some easy stuff at first but then couldn't resist throwing some really good stuff. Yesterday I worked on Roll to Blinds, 540s, Krypts and Tootsie Rolls. The water under my feet and the wind in my hair, it was great.
Today, however, it is not so great. I am so sore that I can hardly move! I was wondering if one could be out of wakeboarding for 7 weeks and be able to go back and get right back into it with minimum falls after no practice for so long. I answered my question. I guess wakeboarding is like riding a bike, once you learn you never forget.
I am riding again today and hope I can move. My body is so stiff. My doctor said it is really important to stretch before riding. I hope the soreness will go away soon. But I am willing to endure any soreness or pain to wakeboard. That is the way wakeboarding is -- once you get a taste of it, watch out, you will want to ride all the time. I hope to take 3 or 4 sets today. I know I am pushing it but I cannot help it. I am addicted to wakeboarding. It is such a good thing!
